Picture 3: My friend and I were fishing on Big Lake last summer for panfish, we were having a hard time getting them to bite and not really knowing much about the lake since it was our first time fishing this lake. After a couple hours of fishing and moving around a bunch of times with no fish to show for it, I decided to tie up something for bass. I am not a big bass fisherman by any means and have almost no tackle for bass at all. I found a plastic worm in my tackle box and rigged up a Texas rig and started casting. On the second cast with my ultra light panfish pole with 4lb test line I hooked into a 20 inch smallmouth. Talk about two kids getting excited. Me being 20 and my friend being 19 you would have thought it was our first time out fishing how excited we got when the fish jumped out of the water and we were moving from the front of the 14 foot boat to the back and back to the front again trying to not have the line break. We finally netted the bass and both of us were so excited we had to sit down for a couple minutes to regain our composure. That was one of my most memorable fishing trips ever. My friend and I still talk about it almost every time we see each other.
